Wellbeing service

Our Wellbeing Team of clinical staff and trained volunteers offer a range of scheduled services and deliver a busy calendar of support for adults living with progressive, life-limiting conditions and their carers, family or friends.

With a focus on living well and adaptation, the wellbeing centre services include therapeutic activities, clinical advice, social groups, bereavement support and some outreach opportunities.

WELLBEING CENTRE

In our Wellbeing Centre we support adults with life limiting illnesses, their loved ones, carers and people who have been bereaved. Our nurse-led Wellbeing Team of staff and volunteers deliver a busy schedule of patient and carer support services. The focus is on wellbeing and adaption, and the services include therapeutic activities, social groups, clinical advice and outreach opportunities.

CANCER SUPPORT GROUP

Our regular group supports people who have had a cancer diagnosis and are at any stage of living with cancer. The group offers friendship and peer support to all members, it also provides clinical support and advice through our trained healthcare professionals and volunteers.

CRAFT GROUP

Our regular group is there to support people who are living with a life limiting illness and/or their support network. The group offers a chance to enjoy different aspects of craft whilst also accessing peer support. This group is run by Volunteers and enables you to access clinical support and advice through our trained healthcare professionals, should you require it.

Join us from 10am – 12pm on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at Great Oaks Hospice.

COFFEE MORNINGS

Our coffee mornings provide an opportunity for anyone from our community to come into the hospice, find out what we do, and how we might be able to support you or someone you care for who has a life-limiting illness.

These friendly, informal sessions are hosted by our trained healthcare professionals and volunteers in our hospice in Coleford on the 1st Wednesday of each month, between 10.30am and 12.30pm.

BEREAVEMENT CAFÉ

Our Bereavement Café aims to give a social space for local people, who have been bereaved and are grieving, to connect and support each other during what can feel like a lonely time.

We invite anyone who has been bereaved and is feeling alone in their grief to drop in to the hospice and join us for coffee and cake, and other refreshments, from 2.00pm – 4.00pm every Thursday.

MENS GROUP

This is Great Oaks fastest growing group!

Aimed at adult men of all ages, our men’s group is for anyone with a life-limiting condition who is looking for a relaxed, friendly, supportive group to join.

The group meets every Wednesday afternoon in our Wellbeing Centre, where everyone is welcome to catch-up over a game of table tennis, darts, skittles or other activities, or to simply enjoy a quiet cup of tea/coffee if you prefer.
